"A Parent Ministry For Ministering Parents"

As a church we believe that the greatest youth "program" is biblical parenting.  So with this in mind our philosophy of youth ministry might be a bit different than some more traditional models.  Our philosophy of youth ministry is really a "parent ministry."  In Scripture we see that parent's are to be the primary disciplers of their youth, so as a church we try to set up a context for this type of ministry to take place.  We do so by meeting in one another's homes to have a time of fun & fellowship with one another, and a time of bible study to discuss issues that might not normally come up in regular conversation and then to see how we might be able to apply Scripture to that particular area of our life (Ex: arguing, selfishness, serving others, etc.).  In these "Parent-Teen Care Groups" we provide a context for parents to lead their children in discussion and application of Scripture either in a one on one basis or in a group discussion, with the help of an overseeing parent for the meeting.  The overall goal of this ministry is to help aid parents to impart a "biblical worldview" to their children through the application of Scripture to their everyday life.  For more information about our times and meetings you can contact Doug Luffman at 913-449-3478.  Click here for the youth/parent blog http://www.galatas614.blogspot.com/
