| Our Passion: To See Christ Glorified In All The Earth
We are a local church that was "birthed" out of a passion to see leaders raised up, trained and sent out to plant local churches that are reaching out to their communities with the message of the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ. How is our calling to the "Great Commission" pursued here at Providence?
- The Local Church - we view each and every Sunday morning as an opportunity for those who have never heard the message of gospel to be invited to hear the good news of Jesus Christ and our calling to submit to Him as our Savior and Lord. Likewise - we are part of a family of churches called "Sovereign Grace Ministries" - that is committed to identifying, training and raising up new leaders to go and plant more churches with the life changing message of the gospel. For more information on Sovereign Grace Ministries' "Missiology" - click here for a free downloadable book that will give you a better picture on our view of missions and how we seek to implement this in our local church contexts.
- In Kansas City - we have partnered with another gospel-preaching church in our city called, "Forest Avenue Baptist Church" located in the downtown area of KC. Forest Ave. has a tremendous ministry to homeless women and children in the KC area - and it is our passion to help support them and join with them in ministry to care for many of these women and children's practical needs, as well as opening up doors to share with them the greatest need of every man, woman and child and that is to have Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Click here for a recent article about "Forest Ave." We go down there and serve at least once a month as a church to help out in whatever ways we can. Most of the time it is through providing their meal for the night, sharing the gospel with them as a group, then having dinner with them as we seek to "build" more "bridges" to share the love of Christ with them.
